Berger’s Disease overview

Berger's disease, also known as IgA nephropathy, is the most common glomerulopathy worldwide.

Most cases are idiopathic. Abnormal Ig A is deposited in the kidney and leads to an inflammatory response.

Clinical suspicion

Nephritic syndrome characterized by recurrent attacks of gross hematuria. Serum complement levels are normal.

Diagnosis

Renal biopsy
