Definition
Normal oral temperature = 36.6-37.2?C with a normal diurnal variation of 1?C
Fever is described as a temperature >37.2?41.5

Febrile syndromes
There are 4 main categories of fever.
A. Fever without localizing symptoms, rash or lymphadenopathy
ii. Fever beyond 3 weeks (FUO)
1. Neutropenic (neutrophils </= 500)
4. Classic FUO
B. Fever & rash
D. Fever and localizing symptoms
