Hello Shijith,Fungal infections of the groin are common. This is known as Tinea Cruris. These occur commonly in hostels and also known as Dhobie's itch.Obesity, excess perspirations, high humidity are common causes precipitating the infection.
This responds well to application of Clotrimazole creme like canesten with a twice daily applications.Tight innerclothing has to be avoided.Clothing should be dry when worn. For prevention antifungal powders like candid powder can be applied.
Sometimes seborrheic dermatitis,a form of dandruff can be mistaken for fungus.Your doctor can easily sort it out.
