Question: Quality difference between closed or open MRI?

 susieQ1 - Mon Dec 10, 2007 3:51 pm

Is there any difference in the quality of the results of a closed or open MRI?

Is the noise level about the same?

Thanks for all your help.

User avatar Dear SusieQ1,

An open MRI still has about the same level of noise, maybe a little quieter. Some radiologists have said that a closed MRI produces better quality pictures, but an open MRI still shows the same results.

Thanks for writing in
Sandy RN
