Question: Pain under left rib

 starrerfende - Sat Feb 05, 2005 12:57 pm

My husband was hurt about a year ago at work. He pulled a musle in his back. When he got hurt he got really sharp pains in his chest for about 30 mintues. Now when he sits down he gets a pain where his ribs are or right under them, on one side. Is this from getting hurt or from something else? Its only when he sits down. Thank you.

Dear starrerfende,
It is likely to be related to that incident you've mentioned. Strange it should last for a year, though, could be it wasn't treated properly from the start. Were there any X-rays done? Has a doctor seen him recently?

He seen a doctor at first for a few months and went to physical thearapy. Then when he went back to work they wouldn't put him on light duty and he couldn't do his old job and he got fired. So he has no insurnce with his new job yet so he hasn't been back to the doctor since about march 2004. His back and neck still hurt him especially if he sits or lays in the same spot for to long. Thank you for any advice.

Dear starrerfende,
What kind of injury was he told he had and what kind of work does he do now?
Does it require a lot of muscular effort involving the injured area?
 starrerfende - Sun Feb 06, 2005 2:18 pm

His job he has now is easy on his back. It was a cervical and lumbar sprain. He says when he does certain things (like he helped someone paint there home not long ago) that it makes his back feel better. So maybe certain exercises would help? Thank you for you help.

Dear starrerfende,
I've found a website that I hope will be helpful to you, check it out and tell me how things are going.
