Question: 15 year old with troubling symptoms
|JO7294 - Thu May 19, 2005 2:44 pm|
My 15 year old daughter has had some disturbing symptoms over last year and half started with large weight loss (started at 127 dropped to 95 within 3 months) we have out 5 pounds on following an aapx 4500 calorie a day diet. She is exhausted all the time and sick (sore throats ears headaches) more often than not. Also had large lymph node (1.5x2 cent) neck. some smaller enlargements on other side and back of neck. the ent removed one of the smaller ones on oppisit side of neck... it came back non malignant but abnormal suggestive of cat scratch or toxoplasmosis, blood serums came back neg for both. they ordering another set of serums nurse was unsure what for.
after this long it really is getting upsetting for both my daughter and I.
Any ideas ?

Get a TB PCR and a CXR done also.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Hopefully we will have some answers soon. I am of course very concerned and somewhat frustrated.
My daughter said before her sugery her two biggest fears were having cancer (my sister passed away at 18 and my brother is now under hospice care after a 4 year battle with cancer) or not still not knowing what was wrong with her.
I'm glad to have your input and will request those tests as well
