Question: Food/Dietary Supplement

 Penguin - Thu Jun 17, 2004 12:04 am

I heard somewhere on tv today (I know, don't believe everything you hear on tv), but I heard (not from an infomercial) that there is a certain supplement or food (that didn't sound unfamiliar) that helps the body increase its metabolism and/or dissuades fat from sticking to the body, but I cannot recall its name. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

There are several products on the market that make those claims. Keep these points in mind:

1. "Increased metabolism" brings with it increased heart rate and/or blood pressure.
2. "Prevents fat absorption" also prevents nutrient absorption.

There are safer, more effective and more reliable options.
