Question: 5-HTP instead of Prozac

 stanster - Thu Jan 06, 2005 6:33 pm

Would 5-HTP be a safe alternative to Prozac for mild depression? If so, what dosage and frequency do you recommend?
 DeLWolcott - Fri Oct 07, 2005 9:59 am

5-HTP is much safer than Prozac. As for dosing, you need to go by the directions on the bottle you purchase as all 5-HTP's are not the same. Try to do plenty of research online for suggestions of the most safe, most pure and most effective brands/strengths to buy.

And as always, be sure to let your physician know of any supplements you are taking before beginning or continuing any other medication.
