Question: natural cures versus synthetic drugs

 patriot9878 - Mon Nov 09, 2009 10:02 am

If natural things like krill oil and omega-3 fish oil are the natural cure for high blood pressure and cholesterol drugs I have been told do nothing. Shouldn't the doctors prescribe natural things first instead of resorting to synthetic drugs your body doesn't want and really don't work anyway?

User avatar Hello,You are absolutely right when you say that only when life style management, control of obesity, and dietary therapy fail that there is a scope for cholesterol lowering drugs. But then severe types can be started on drug therapy along with life style management, which the physician may decide even at lower levels like ones with a family history.Pregnancy, allergy to statins, and liver disease are contra indications.Multiple drugs may be needed in uncontrolled with diet, and single drug.Best wishes.
