Question: future liver damage

 kenmetz - Sun Jan 18, 2004 12:37 pm

I have to take neurontin the rest of my life. I am 62. What can I do to prevent liver damage?
Dr. Tamer Fouad - Sun Jan 25, 2004 9:14 am

User avatar I havent heard that Neurontin has been commonly associated with any form of liver damage. More commonly it can cause abnormal increase in liver enzyme tests, but this happens as a result of some chemical reaction that does not harm the liver. On rare occaisions (<1% of patients Neurontin has been associated with hepatitis and jaundice).

If you have any other info please share it with us. Otherwise I wouldnt worry about it.
