Question: Fluoxetine/passion flower mix

 silhoutette - Tue Jun 12, 2007 12:20 pm

Would it be dangerous to take a small amount of passion flower (not frequently) when on fluoxetine, seeing as one is a SSRI and the other is a MAOI...?
Thanks

(Im a 19 year old female)

User avatar I am not familiar with the passion flower supplement; however, based on your question about SSRI's and MAOI's I presume that it is the MAOI.

Mixing SSRI's and MAOI's can be very dangerous. Using these medicines together can produce deadly effects.

Best wishes.
