Question: Nortriptyline and digestion

 razzle - Fri Nov 11, 2005 12:50 am

Does anyone know: Is there a side affect of nortriptyline of causing constipation?
Theresa Jones, RN - Sat Dec 31, 2005 7:05 am

User avatar Hi razzle,
Some of the less serious side effects of Nortriptyline are drowsiness or dizziness, dry mouth and eyes, constipation, mild tremor, sweating, mild agitation, weakness, headache, ringing in the ears, nausea, loss of weight or appetite.
Discuss with your physician about the constipation side effect. He/she may suggest supplementing your diet with additional fiber to relieve this symptom.
Sincerely,
Theresa Jones, RN
