Question: post hemorrhoid surgery

 densgal - Mon Sep 26, 2005 10:25 am

I had hemrroid surgery 11 days ago. I don't think I look much better. Am I to expect swelling? Will it go down as time passes and perhaps all stitches dissolve? I'd hate to have to go through this again! Thank you.

Yes, swelling can be expected during the healing process post-surgery. Be sure to follow all of the directions given to you at discharge from the hospital and check in soon with your surgeon for evaluation.
