Question: Sharp Pain in shaft of penis when ejaculating?

 bobpod - Fri Jan 09, 2009 9:27 am

Whenever I ejaculate after masturbation, a small amount of sperm is released and then stops followed instantly by a sharp pain about half way down my penis in the urethra(?) At one time, I was convinced that I felt a tiny lump but have been unable to feel it there again. What could be wrong?

User avatar Hello --

This could be caused by urethral spasm or could be due to a ruptured small muscle (which will usually resolve on its own, but sometimes can cause a stricture which might require a trans-urethral dilation procedure). It would be worth a visit to the urologist to be sure, but if there are no other symptoms and this only occurs during masturbatory activity, it may be a "strain" with no real injury involved.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck to you.
