Question: Taking Magna-Rx w/ Red Yeast Rice...

 Blacktor7 - Sat Apr 25, 2009 6:22 pm

I understand that it is NOT recommended to take male enhancement supplements like MagnaRx while taking heart and cholehsterol medications; however, does this also apply to "natural" supplements like Red Yeast Rice? I am currently taking MagnaRx for erectile dysfunction and am considering implementing Red Yeast Rice for my slight high LDL cholesterol level (140). My HMO Dr advised that it is a safe combination since RYR is "natural" but I am still unsure. Is it safe to take both?

User avatar Hello --

MagnaRX is, like red yeast rice, a herbal/vetable-based supplement with no particular proven clinical value, so neither will interact in a bad way with the other. May or may not help the problems, but certainly won't produce any untoward interactions.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
